In 2016 while serving at the 934th Airlift Wing, Minneapolis Air Reserve Station, Staff Sgt. Corban Lundborg was selected to represent the Air Force Reserve in the 2017 annual edition of Futures Magazine, a Department Of Defense recruiting publication.
Corban was serving as a Reserve photojournalist in the 934th Public Affairs shop and running an art studio in Minneapolis for his civilian career. He was selected to share his story on how the military helped him turn his love for art into a career.
Futures Magazine flew a team of journalists out from Boston to interview and photograph Corban for the publication. They captured the artist as he painted a mural for a local cross fit gym in Minneapolis.
The team of journalist attended an Air Force drill with Corban when he reported for duty at the 934th for his monthly training.
The magazine was released nearly a year later in October of 2017. The cover of the magazine featured Corban’s mural he painted for the gym.
Corban was interviewed by a Futures Magazine writer. Here is the published article sharing Corban’s experience as an artist in the military.
Corban is grateful for the experience and appreciates the opportunity to inspire others to pursue a life in art.
